>At the beginning, there was absolutely no
connection between Yorgl and the electronic
music. Born in Saint Didier d'Aussiat, a
little village of less than 100 people lost
in the famous Burgian Valley (France asshole),
he spends his teenage at praying and deprivation
, stuck between chicken and corn.
With teenage
time comes acne, and beers too. So he begins
heavy drinking with mopeds-riding friends just as his legendary skin problems grow
: here is all for hard-core. After that,
he has to choose something to do with his
life, so he enters an computing school,
where he has quite a revelation : he discovers
Autechre music, programming and that it
is possible to drink beers since 10 o'clock
in the morning, with a litlle bit of determination.
He joins the Incipit Electronica crew, he
begins to work on several stupid projects
for school just like "beer can opening
robot", "turntablist mouse",
etc. At this time, he works with Cookie_B
and his friends and develop the "yorgl
mathematic generator", software that
generate sounds from mathematics formulas,
and so he was on his way for music.
He appears
on Incipit Electronica and Heafi compilations,
and starts to play lives in many different
places : gallery in Paris, skate park at
Tours, pubs in Lyon, Alive 2002 festival,
squatt in Torino (Italia), Liege (at Phoenix),
etc. and he makes a mini-CD with the Minitou
label in spring 2003.
During a party at "Mauvaises
Pierres" (east Belgium), between the
7th and 14th beer, he enconters crazy turntablists
: "Beatnologistz ", then he starts an hips!hop collaboration. A beer bottle
more in a "live" pack where it
was already possible to find Sir Gorellaume paintings / videos /sculptures. Riding Belgium
land to make you listen to his stomping
mathematics and playful musics is always
a great pleasure for him and his Incipit
Electronica friends... Enjoy it... and 10
points to the one who succeeds to translate
the french conclusion "faites péter
la rotteuse". |
