>Born in 1978 , Gorellaume has practiced drawing since the very early years. After 4 years of study in St Etienne and Strasbourg in art schools he is now a art teacher in Paris but keeps on practising in the same spirit he had during his study years : "I know that there is all these theories but i'd rather do my own thing (anyway, i can justify)" His works try to mix painting and comics/illustration style, always in the movement between these two different way, a duality which can be also found in the images he propose that often mix the darkest thoughts with more lightfull messages, sometimes quiet ironic.
He is also a graphist, party decorator, videomaker and flyer designer for differents labels and collectives (incipit electronica, LMALC, marasm records, trois patttes records, signal zero...). He's is actually working on a project with on the Leviathan's thema which include sculpture/video/painting/text/and poster sticking in the streets. The final exhibition of this Leviathan project, ot at least fragments, takes place somewhere, somehow. |
